While the basic information in the article isn't bad, the pricing for installation and what it includes misses the mark by about a mile. Standard prefinished installation in our area runs between $3.50 and $5.00 per square foot. If the material is purchased through your installer they are responsible for getting the material to the jobsite. The price should include proper acclimation, using underlayment and actually nailing down the wood. Installers DO NOT include moving furniture, subfloor prep, removing and replacing trim, or removing and disposing of existing material in their base price. Call around and get three or four bids in your area with references so you have a good comparison. My opinion, the cheapest option will typically end up costing you more in the end, and the most expensive probably isn't worth it. Go for a price somewhere in the middle and choose someone that you like and feel is trustworthy. Good installers should have no problem providing references at your request. Good luck!
